It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Devoy Mountcastle of Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on July 15, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carolyn Devoy Mountcastle of Baltimore, MD and Vernon Bass Mountcastle, Sr. of Weldon, NC.; and his brother Vernon Bass Mountcastle, Jr. of Raleigh, NC.. He is survived by: his wife Christiane Giletta Mountcastle; his sister Mary Mountcastle Fields; his children, Michael Mountcastle (Sally) of Atlanta, GA and Mary Patricia Ostrander (Donald) of Sterling, VA; and his grandchildren, Zachary Mountcastle of Atlanta, GA and Olivia Mountcastle of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department at 20688 Ashburn Road, Ashburn VA 20147.
