He was predeceased by: his brothers, Michael Higgins and Thaddeus Carney. He is survived by: his wife Christine Higgins; his children, Patrick Higgins (Jordan), Allison Carney (Dylan) and John Higgins; and his siblings, Louise Carney, Daisy Carney, Jude Carney, Caroline Higgins and Charlotte Higgins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley (10 W Padonia Rd, Timonium, MD 21093). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Celebrated St. Matthew Catholic Church (5401 Loch Raven Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21239).
