He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Surman and Robert G. Childress Sr.. He is survived by: his children, Robert Childress (Dena), Kristen Hollis (Greg) and Megan Fumia (Jeremy); and his grandchildren, Kaylee Childress Krieger (Rhett), Kara, Abby Childress, Evan, Finnegan Hollis, Victoria, Blake, Ethan, Isabella and Felicity Fumia.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. (9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Holly Hill Memorial Gardens (10201 Bird River Rd, Baltimore, MD 21220).
