She was predeceased by: her husband Robert E. Kurlis, Sr.; and her parents, Henry Butz and Catherine Butz. She is survived by: her children, Karen M. Young (Ralph) and Robert E. Kurlis, Jr. (Deborah); her grandchildren, Kimberly Roberts (David), Michael Young and Gary Green; and her great grandchild Rachel Green.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. (9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 11:15 AM at the Parkwood Cemetery (3310 Taylor Ave, Baltimore, MD 21234).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name in honor of her love for animals to an animal shelter of your choice.
