He was predeceased by: his close friend Jay Blumenthal; his parents, Helen Chernak and Sidney Chernak; and his former wife Judy Chernak. He is survived by: his close friend Linda Rose Barron; his children, Jon Chernak (Nancy), Dr. Jeffrey Chernak (Sharon Blatt), Debi Chernak and Wendy Hefter (David); his sister Marlene; his grandchildren, Dr. Linda Meyers (Cliff), Dr. Laura Slane (Josh), Dr. Brian Chernak (Sajni), Stephanie Hefter, Amy Wiesen (Zev), Daniel Hefter (Orly Olbum), Rebecca Levy (Elliot), Jay Chernak and Michael Chernak; and his great grandchildren, Julia, William Meyers, Henry, James Slane, Mark, Daisy Wiesen and Leo Levy.
