He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Cope Mahan; and his brother Joseph. He is survived by: his children, Ann Mahan Heisey (Rick) and Michele Mahan Haak (Gerry); his siblings, Margaret Wilson, Robert Mahan and Francis Mahan; and his grandchildren, Amy, Joe Mallia, Tim, Michelle Haak, Tom, Jess Haak, Kristin, Timm Green, Eric, Emily Heisey, Katie, Rick Porter and Melissa Haak. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
