He is survived by: his wife Joan Barbara Matthews (Leidig); his daughters, Barbara Jean Estermyer (James), Shirley Jane Roberson (Robert) and Julie Ann Miller (Rob); his grandchildren, Stephanie Shannon Carroll (Dustin), Daniel Matthews Roberson (Libby), Angela Ashley Nicastro (Jack), Kathleen Elizabeth Roberson, Lauren Ann Ward (Lucas), Nicole Annette Miller, Glenn Russell Miller, Nathaniel Paul Roberson, Crystal Lynn Hood and Breeon Leigh Estermyer; and his great grandchildren, Zachary Hood, Jack Carroll, Arthur Roberson, Jonah Carroll, Juliette Roberson, Emma Baggerly, Jackson Ward and Kennedy Brown.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sweet Air Starts (3911 Sweet Air Rd, Phoenix, MD 21131). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery (3911 Sweet Air Rd, Phoenix, MD 21131).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the St. John's Lutheran Church Veterans Fund (https://www.stjohnssweetair.org) or the St. John's Lutheran Church Children's Playground Fund.
