He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Thomas Powell and Dorothy Powell (Schmitt); his wife Nancy Powell (Bartlebaugh); his siblings, Dorothea Longo, Robert and Raymond Powell; and his daughter Michele Campbell.
He is survived by: his sons, John Powell, Jr. (Bonnie) and Mark Powell (Phyllis); his stepdaughter Tamara Dougherty; his grandchildren, Justen Campbell, Madisan Campbell, Rachel Peak, Kristin Ruzicka and Amanda Dougherty; his great grandchildren, Millie Ruzicka, Ljay Ruzicka and Harley Berry; and his sister June Morris.
