He was predeceased by: his parents, W. E. Pardew (Erk) and Viola Pardew (Settle); his wife Virginia Pardew (Mathis) of Elkin, NC.; and his granddaughter Lauren Banks. He is survived by: his children, Mona, Keith and Jada; his grandchildren, Christy Pardew (Josh Raisler Cohn), Katie Carroll, Julie Garrett, Phil Garrett (Marcela), Lisa Jarvis (Brantley) and Greg Banks (Courtney); and his great grandchildren, Avery, Peyton Carroll, Elias Raisler Cohn and June Jarvis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1432 US 21, State Road, NC 28676.
