She is survived by: her mother Estelle Martin Cartledge; her former spouse Wheeler Winstead; her friends, Eloise Alston, Judy Jenkins, Jean "Cuda" Alston and Milton Alston; her husband Leon Mills; her sisters, Stella Cartledge Logan and Gwendolyn Cartledge; her children, Wheeler Ray Winstead, Jr. (Jean), Elfreda Winstead Massie, Mary Estelle Winstead and Deborah Remalle Higdon (Thomas); her grandchildren, Joshua Winstead (Sarada), Michael Anton, Wheeler Ray Winstead, III, Harold Hall III (Morgan), Nicole Massie Martin (Mark), Michelle Massie, Gina Winstead and Angela Winstead; and her stepchildren, Bronda Mills, Arnetta Mills, Carolyn Bounds, Leon Mills Jr. and Lisa Wright (David). She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
