She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Jones and Ernest Jones. She is survived by: her husband Edward Theodore Taylor; her children, Yvette E. Taylor, Deborah Tulani Salahu-Din and Tyrone Edward Taylor; her daughter-in-law Amy Taylor; her grandchildren, Diana Hachoose, Angelina Hachoose, Janna Amin, Mikayla Amin, Donovan Taylor and Briana Taylor; her great grandchildren, Nasir Amin Kangalee, Ninah Amin and Meyari Taylor; her sisters-in-law, Christine Williams and Victoria Jones; and her friend Leola Smack. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Friendship United Methodist (22078 Wetipquin Rd, Quantico, MD 21856). Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, tax exempt donations can be made out to Lower Shore Bowie Alumni Association Scholarship Fund in memory of Doretta Taylor.
