It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Guy Dowling of Berlin, Maryland, born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, who passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Joseph Dowling and Margaret Sabina Cierniak Dowling of Joseph's High School; his daughter Lisa Michelle Dowling; and his sister-in-law Deborah Dowling. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Agnes Bittner Dowling; his siblings, Renee Dowling Martellini (John) and Andrew Joseph Dowling; his children, Brian Guy Dowling (Kelly McDonald Dowling) and Missy Kelly Dowling Detwiler; his grandchildren, Andalyn Callie Moore (Drew), Christian Joseph Dowling, Guy Allen Detwiler (Hanna Ann Simmers), Sean Patrick, Logan Murphy, Alyssa Janelle and Nicolas Emory; and his great grandchild Nolan Elliot Detwiler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Eastern Shore Cremation and Funeral Service (504 Franklin Ave, Berlin, MD 21811). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church (11211 Beauchamp Rd, Berlin, MD 21811). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Community Church of Ocean Pines (11227 Racetrack Rd, Berlin, MD 21811).
