He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Leslie and Geraldine Heinlen (Shoemaker); and his siblings, Leslie Heinlen and Donna Reed. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn L. Heinlen of Ocean Pines; his children, Frederick J. Heinlen II (Jo) of Ocean Pines, Jo Anne Heinlen Stepp (Doug) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Robert D. Heinlen (Kelley) of Carlisle, PA; his siblings, Roy E. Heinlen (Zane) of Weslaco, TX and Roberta Slater of Columbus, OH; his siblings-in-law, Betty Heinlen of Cape Coral, FL and Don Reed of Hermitage, PA; and his grandchildren, Krista Follmer (Nick), Lauren Wist (John), Kelly Enders (Tim), Leah Unseth (Elliot), Kathleen Enders, Karis Sheffer (Paul), Caitlin Heinlen and Robert Heinlen Jr. (Ashley). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
