He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wilson Kerns, Sr. and Sharyn Vaughn Kerns; and his sister Debra Kerns West. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Kerns of Snow Hill, MD.; his son Nathaniel Kerns Paugh of Texas; his sisters, Ellen Fortney (Denver) of Mill Creek, WV and Susan DiPasquale (Mike) of Mill Creek, WV; and his stepchildren, Melissa Ford of Ambridge, PA, Amy Ginnavan (Bryan) of Berlin, MD, James Winters III, Chasity Reed of Buckhannon, WV and Chester Winters of French Creek, WV. He is also survived by eleven step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
