She was predeceased by: her parents, Teresa Arufe of Costa and Manuel Costa; and her grandson Charles "Chase" H. Dolbey Jr.. She is survived by: her husband George F. Mercado; her daughter Marisa Mercado Dolbey (Charles H. Dolbey); and her granddaughter Gabrielle Christina Dolbey.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Glenn Riddle Clubhouse (11501 Maid at Arms Ln, Berlin, MD 21811).
