He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard J. Sweeney and Margaret Torpey Sweeney; his wife Ellen Sweeney; his siblings, Thomas Sweeney and Carolyn Christiansen; and his brother-in-law Ronald Christiansen.
He is survived by: his children, Kerry Sweeney (Brian Fairchild), RJ Sweeney, Erin Norsen (Darryl) and Chris Sweeney (Elisabeth Davis); his grandchildren, Margaret Norsen, Emmett Norsen, William Zarkowski, Stella Sweeney and Cecilia Sweeney; and his nieces, Kimberly Christiansen, Kelly Dunbar, Erica Glessing and Robin Christiansen.
