He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry McGeehan and Ann Taylor McGeehan; his former wife Joan Elizabeth McGeehan; his daughter Cynthia Joan McGeehan; his daughter-in-law Susan Rose Reilly; and his siblings, Charles McGeehan (Nick), James McGeehan, Mary Woodard, Joan Graue and Dorothy Constance Gosnell.
He is survived by: his close friend Shirley Kurinij; his children, Karen Ann McGeehan, Richard Charles Reilly and Mark William McGeehan; his daughter-in-law Marsha McGeehan; his brother John McGeehan; his grandson Christopher McGeehan; and his great grandchildren, Conor McGeehan, Murphie McGeehan and Hannah McGeehan.
He directly worked on the third flight of the "Columbia" space shuttle and was recognized for his significant contribution to the success of the mission.
