He is survived by: his wife Sophia Riehl; and his brother-in-law Mike Astalinos (Kim). He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and many great great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Richard's name to the Community Lutheran Church.
