Ron Barrier wrote a sympathy message

“I have great lifelong memories of Uncle Ricky. From him taking me to see fireworks in Takoma Park as a kid, to him making our entire family laugh at our summer weekend gatherings in Virginia. To having a cup coffee with him as an adult, just shooting that breeze. I will miss his physical presence, but these great memories will be with me forever. Aunt Pam, Brandon, Marcus, Jessica, Bailey, Mikaela, and the rest of the family…sending big hugs and loving energy to you all. 💕”

J B wrote a sympathy message

“My father always had a song in his heart. He was always tapping a beat or humming or singing. I remember one time we were taking his mini van to the mechanic because the heat stopped working and we were so cold. He made up a song about having heat to the tune of If I Only Had A Brain from Wizard of OZ. My mother once told me the story of the time she got the record American Pie and how much she loved that song. All I can think now is that December 30th is the day the music died”

Tammy Bowles wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Family, My heart breaks for you. Uncle Ricky was a true fighter and inspiration. He lived the last of his life his way, doing everything he loved with everyone he loved. There were times we thought, this is it... but Uncle Ricky said "hold my coffee" and he would be up and out living life the very next week. I'm glad I have so many fun memories to cherish. He was not only an Uncle but a friend that will be missed and loved always by so many. Praying for you all. Love Always- Tammy Lynn”
