He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shayer Sr. and Leona Shayer (Roy); and his sister Nancy Ensenat (Shayer). He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Shayer (Merbler); his sons, Kevin (Pamela) of Florida and Brian of Sweden; his grandchildren, Ryan, Brendan, Oliver, Colin and Jenny; and his stepsister Emily Clark of Delaware. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
