He is survived by: his wife Dawne Elizabeth Pappas (Avery); his children, Stephen (Danielle), Jason (Alison) and Dara; his grandchildren, Brynn, Grayson, Reese, Walker and Henry; his pet Leo; and his siblings, Theodore (Ted) and Virginia Burbage (John "Jack" Burbage).

Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Burbage Funeral Home (108 Williams St, Berlin, MD 21811). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Place He Called Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's memory to the American Cancer Society or Coastal Hospice.
