He was predeceased by: his mother Flossie Farmer; his son Terrell Farmer; and his brother Donnie Farmer. He is survived by: his wife Mary Farmer; his children, Shawn Farmer, April Snell, Tammi Farmer and Sheaquita Farmer; his stepchildren, Robert Carpenter (Patricia) and Dorothy Deshields (Joe); and his siblings, Larry Briddell, James Gaynor (Ernestine), Tony Gaynor, Quenette Farmer, Vanessa F. Rounds (C. J.), Cheryl Waters (Richard), Beverly Farmer, Linda Purnell and Annie Brittingham.
