He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Purnell and Monroe Jones. He is survived by: his children, Marvin Smith (Beverly) and Lorinda Dale (James); and his siblings, Bishop Edward Purnell (Leola), Norman Briddell (Ella), Vaughn Holland (Lynda), Larsen Jarmon (Portia), William Holland, Carl Holland (Alma), Cheryl Dale, Darlene Sessoms (Willie), Linda Duffy (Jeron) and Regina McCloud. He is also survived by five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
