We announce the death of Jack Kenneth Eckstrom Jr. of Betterton, Maryland, born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 85. Jack will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Sr. Eckstrom and Doris Sullivan Eckstrom; and his wife Merceda Eckstrom. He is survived by: his children, Jack "Skip" Eckstrom 3rd (Heather) and Maryjane Fillman; his sister Doris Jean Sweeney; his grandchildren, Jordan Eckstrom, Kendall "Lizzie" Eckstrom, Alyssa Fillman and Ashley Fillman; and his great grandchildren, Dayton and Atlas Eckstrom.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen (118 W Cross St, Galena, MD 21635). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
