He was predeceased by: his parents, James Elsworth Smith and Anna Holsey Smith. He is survived by: his wife Karen M. Smith; his children, Zachary A. Smith and Lauren E. Smith-Wilgus (Robert); and his siblings, Douglas Smith, James Smith and Patricia O'Neill.
