He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. J. Walter Hastings, Jr. and Marjorie Wright Hastings of Cambridge, Maryland.; his grandmother Denala Wright; Ruth Matthews, Nell Wright, Joe Wright and John Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Nettie; his brother Joseph Walter Hastings III (Carol); his nephew Joseph IV; his cousins, Phillip Wright (Carol) and Connie Spoon; and his in-laws, Linthia Mills, Robert Bromwell, Jr. (Dodie) and Charles Amos Bromwell III (Carol).
