He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Strite and Cora Strite (Horst); his wife Esther Strite; his children-in-law, Lewis Baer and Kimberly Strite; and his grandson-in-law Scott Obitts.
He is survived by: his children, LuAnn Baer, Dale Strite, Darrel Strite (Penny), Lucille Sweeney (Edward) and Lisa Stoneham (James); and his siblings, Edgar, Kenneth Strite and Anna Strite. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery (20544 Benevola Church Rd, Boonsboro, MD 21713).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cumberland Valley Relief Center, 4225 Molly Pitcher Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
