She was predeceased by: her father Samuel Lyons; and her husband Myron James. She is survived by: her mother Virgie Butler; and her children, Jeffrey Peterson (Michelle), Robyn Peterson, Margaret Peterson-James, Joseph T. Peterson (Lisa), Alyce Bell (Dondrake), Robert and George James (Le'Jada). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, family and dear, life-long friends.
A child of the depression, she grew up on the values of love of God, family loyalty, thrift, and charity to those in need.
