She was predeceased by: her parents, George Whitney and Lena Reglar Whitney (Angelina). She is survived by: her children, JoLinda Ruth Cogen (Michael J. Cogen, Sr.) and Emerson DeWitt Ruth (Janice Ruth); her grandchildren, Danielle, Christopher, Whitney, Asha (Reggie Steele) and Madison; her great grandchildren, Caliana, Josiah, Dash, Aries, Dyce and Ayah; her lifelong Sterling Street; William "Bubba" Troup and Rosa Bell "Nana" Troup. She is also survived by neighbors; and a tapestry of friends.
