We are sad to announce that on February 24, 2024, at the age of 67, Elaine J. Harris (Bowie, Maryland), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her father William R. Harris; her aunts, Ethel J. Matthews, Pauline Crawford and Thelma Worrell; and her uncle Robert E. Davis.

She is survived by : her mother Doris Harris; her sister Pauline Harris; and her cousins, Celeste Crawford Gardiner, Victoria Taylor (Charles), Joshua Gardiner, Horace Crawford (Ruth), Delia Payne (Alonzo), Broderick Crawford (Cassandra), Zoe Crawford, Jonathan Crawford, Albert Pettus, Carla Donaldson (Chris), Jackie Crawford (Barry), Cedric Bush, Gregory Mickens (LaVerne), Paulette Edmunds, Kim Davis, Robert Davis, Barbara Robinson, William Robinson, Shirley Bonsell (John), Robin Perez, Gordon Miller, Marcus Short (Jerri), William Short, Michelle Pritchett (Michael), Aritha Brown (Lonnie), LaVerne Adderley (Lance), Aaron R. Moore and Alisa Moore.

She was co-founder of the Class '86 Racial Equity Initiative, spearheading a fundraising effort that doubled contributions to the Black Alumni Association Endowment Fund (BAAEF). She recruited classmates to participate in a program to donate time and expertise, as an additional way to support their alma mater.
