Gustavo left this world on July 12, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustavo Mercanti and Diletta Mercanti (Scachetti); and his siblings, Ed, Jim, William, Blanche and Nellie.
He is survived by: his son Mark Mercanti; his grandsons, Richard and Anthony Mercanti; his daughter Melissa Mercanti-Flynn; his son-in-law Tom; and his grandson Grant Flynn.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home (16000 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery (1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032).
