She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Whetzel, Sr.; her daughter Darlene; her parents, George Hickey and Gertrude Hickey; and her siblings, George Hickey (Skippy), Katie Lee and Patt Anderson (Russell).
She is survived by: her children, Buddy, Billy (Lin), Debbie (Joe), Donna, Denise Whetzel and Diane Morris; her daughter-in-law Jill Whetzel; her grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren, Devin and Colleen; and her siblings, Paul Hickey (Kristy) and Mary Vuolo (Gil). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Resident's Fund, Autumn Lakes Healthcare, 2131 Davidsonville Road, Crofton, MD 21114 in honor of Helen Whetzel.
