Larry D. Slaughter Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2025, at the age of 68, Larry D. Slaughter of Bowie, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Larry leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Larry may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Slaughter, Sr. and Mary Sue Slaughter; and his brothers, Curtis Slaughter Jr., Walter James Slaughter and Edward Slaughter.
He is survived by: his wife Ayisha Coates Slaughter; his children, Nigel, Kwana Nesmith and Jawharra Powell; and his siblings, Mary Ruth Sudler and Anthony Slaughter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, godchildren and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Highland Park (6801 Sheriff Rd, Landover, MD 20785). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
