Preston leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Preston’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Preston will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Twitty "Dottie" and Purcell Laws Nickens; and his wife Betty Williams Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Derek Johnson of Jamaica, NY, Janice L. Daniels (Steve) of Hope Mills, NC and Camilla Johnson Perry (Dallas L.) of Bowie, MD. He is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary AME Church (325 Main St, Navassa, NC 28451).
