He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Leonard Tompkins, Sr. and Cora Ellen Tompkins (Williams); his sons, Joseph P. Tompkins (Beth) of Lothian, MD and Gary M. Tompkins (Ashley) of Churchton, MD; and his siblings, Steven Tompkins (Jamie) of Laurel, MD, Richard Tompkins of Laurel, MD and Virginia Tompkins of Laurel, MD.. He was also cherished by three grandchildren.
