He was predeceased by : his parents, John G. Knott and Beulah Margaret Knott Austin; and his brothers, John "Skip" Knott, George "Frank" Knott and William.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy Knott; his children, Missy Martin and Paul "Joey" Knott; his sister Mary Kephart; and his grandchildren, Troy, Travis and Trever "Autumn" Martin.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Boyds Presbyterian Church, PO Box 320 Boyds, MD 20841.
