Charles Bowers Obituary
We announce the death of Charles Bowers (Brooklyn Park, Maryland), who passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Charles will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Charles will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Charles will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Charles’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: nieces and nephews: Cathy Bowers, Jim Arena, Theresa Szekeky-Berry, Ann Pyles, and Joseph Arena; cousins: Melvin Maurer and Carolyn Gruss; other: Ricki Rutley and Paul Morales; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, and former Hippo employees.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gonce Funeral Service (4001 Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Church (106-112 E West St, Baltimore, MD 21230). A burial will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Holy Cross Cemetery (6020 Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn, MD 21225).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chuck may be made to AIDS Action Baltimore or the SPCA.
