He was predeceased by: his wife Nora Belle Dortch; his son Gary Dortch; and his grandchild JD Barkley. He is survived by: his children, Gail Dortch, Denise Smith, Christina Dortch and David Barkley; his grandchildren, Shannon Smith, DJ Barkley, Travis Barkley, Kerri Dortch-Watkins, Brian Dortch and Angie Dortch; and his great grandchildren, Brandi Dortch, Gage Barkley, John Barkley Jr., Ian Dortch, Kristen Dortch, Edward Watkins and Abigail Watkins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gonce Funeral Service (4001 Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 11:00 PM.
