He was predeceased by: his parents, James Russell Pearrell and Edith Pauline Pearrell (Wisner) of Brunswick, MD.; and his siblings, James Pearrell (Jerry), Owen Pearrell (Bake) and Ernestine Reynolds (Pearrell).

He is survived by: his brothers, Richard Pearrell and David Pearrell; and his children, Emerson Pearrell Jr. (Butch), Roxanne Hodge (Pearrell), Sonya Pearrell, Jody Pearrell, Stephanie Kennedy (Pearrell) and Lester Pearrell. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren.
