He was predeceased by: his parents, George William Spence, Jr. and Frances Cecelia Lord Spence; his wife Eleanor Joyce Spence; and his sister Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" Guy (late Jackie). He is survived by: his sons, James William "Jay" Spence, Jr. of Bushwood, MD, Jon Robert Spence (Jessica) of Chaptico, MD and Jerel Hodges "Jerry" Spence of Bushwood, MD.; his grandchildren, Jacob William Spence of Chaptico, MD. and Jenna Renee Spence of Chaptico, MD.; and his brothers, Robert Henry "Harry" Spence (late Maxine) and Alan Thomas Spence (Jackie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
