He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Dryden Layfield; his children, Dale Robert Layfield (Debbie) and Debbie Ann Laird (Robert); his grandchildren, Kelly Marie Layfield (James), Dale Robert Layfield, Jr. and Caitlin Alayne Laird; and his great grandchildren, Riley Parsons and James Parsons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
