He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelso West and Pearl West (Baker); his son Robert L. West; and his sister Doris Olsen. He is survived by: his children, William F. West, Jr. and Tobie C. Davies (John) of Fairfield, PA; his granddaughter Heather A. Neff (Cory) of Strasburg, VA; his great grandchildren, Robert F. Neff and Jacob A. Neff; his brother Charles West (Marty) of Hagerstown; his close friend Pauline Grimes; his niece Teresa Dingle (Wayne) of Cascade; his nephews, Timothy Olsen (Lois) of Thurmont, MD and Barry West (Laurie) of Delray Beach, FL.; his caregivers, Krista Bentz, Marlene Black and Bill; Stella and Paul Sanders.
