He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rose Antar (Razook Toma) and Naman S. Antar; his spouse Dr. Vappu S. Nuotio-Antar; his children, Alli (Jeff) and Annukka (Sarah); his grandchildren, Lilja, Martti, Karoliina and Aino; and his siblings, Huda Malconian, Munther Antar (Clara) and Ghassan Antar.

In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic compounded the challenges of Parkinson's, he and Vappu relocated to Catonsville, MD, to be nearer the care and support of their younger daughter and her family.
