“I first worked with Clif on the PASS project in Laurel in the late 90's, I worked again for him at STScI in recent years. I always found Clif to be a true gentleman and scholar. I was most impressed by Clif's story telling ability (whether he was telling a story about Northern Italy, Saudi Arabia, Wreak Diving, or the most arcane details of parts of PASS software) Clif truly seemed to savor the way words should work together to convey information in the most clear and entertaining way. It is always a jolt when someone from your cohort passes suddenly and reminds you of your own frailty and advancing years. Clif and I go back all the way to the days at the Crow’s Nest at Texas. He was thoughtlful, caring, and dedicated to his work. He loved working on Hubble, and would talk about his work and colleagues with pride.
