He was predeceased by: his siblings, Russell Hemingway and Carol Martin (Charlie Martin); and his brother-in-law Gary Rice. He is survived by: his sister Debra Rice; and his children, Royce Hemingway (Danielle), Kristina Hemingway, Robert Hemingway (Tessa), Raymond Hemingway, Rodney Hemingway, Ryan Hemingway (Dreama) and Reid Hemingway (Karen). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
