He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jonathon Powers and Elizabeth Margaret Gunther Powers; his siblings, Melbourne Powers, John Powers, Delores Reynolds, Lavinia Powers and Sister Rosemary Powers; his son Thomas Edward Powers Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Xander Lee and Mary Kate Wiegand.
He is survived by: his brother Gerald Powers; his former wife Loretta Powers; and his children, James Powers, Robert Powers, Deborah Hutchins (Rocky), Michael Powers, Christine Wiegand (Erik), Richard Powers (Amy), Daniel Powers (Valerie), Patricia Vanschaik (David), Stephen Powers (Robynn) and Elizabeth Smith (Aaron). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery (11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623).
