He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lawrence and Irene Murphy (Flaherty). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Anne Murphy; his children, James Murphy, Jr. of Washington, DC and Ryan Murphy of Arlington, VA; his stepchildren, Martin DeLeonibus (Laura) of Bowie and Julie DeLeonibus of Upper Marlboro; his grandchildren, Dylan, Gabriella, Sofia, Adin, Clayton, Ava, Daniel and Cassidy; and his siblings, Irene Keeley, John Murphy, Thomas Murphy and Kathleen Callendar.
