Though Gottfried may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Gottfried leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Baumann and Elizabeth Braun Baumann. He is survived by: his wife Eva Schmergel; his children, Kathy Hock (Worton, MD), Roberta Baumann of Rockland, ME, Christopher Baumann of Myrtle Beach, SC and Michael Baumann (Baltimore, MD); and his godson David Ostwind (Annapolis, MD). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown (905 Gateway Dr, Chestertown, MD 21620). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at the St. Paul's Church Cemetery (7579 Sandy Bottom Rd, Chestertown, MD 21620).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown to benefit local charities.
