He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur Mead and Aurelia Cornelila Vaughn; and his son Lance Paul Mead. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Marlene Mead; his children, Lawrence Arthur Mead (Lorrie) of Centreville, MD and Valerie Marlene Haines (Brian) of Ridgley, MD; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Mead, Lisa Wilkens, Jerrod Waite, Kelsey Waite and Jacob Waite.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home (408 S Liberty St, Centreville, MD 21617). A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Stevensville Cemetery (808 Main St, Stevensville, MD 21666).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Paul's honor.
