He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Tyler and May Tyler (Robertson); his wife Kathryn Metz; his son Edward; and his sisters, Janet Cornwell, Shirley Gawler, Barbara Skidmore, Mary Frances Tyler and Rose Schnieder.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Tyler (Wendy Aldridge) of Stevensville, MD, Teresa Corcoran (Thomas) of Edgewater, MD, Diane Grenchik (Thomas) of Riverdale, MD, Stephen Tyler of Gloucester, MA, Kristy Brewer (Barry) of Stirling, VA, Karyn Black (Steven) of Camp Springs, MD and Kelli Tyler of Cheverly, MD. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gasch's Funeral Home (4739 Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville, MD 20781). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26th 2026 at 1:45 PM at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery (11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623).
